You’ve worked hard to get where you are. We want to help you protect your investment and successfully achieve the next level of your career.

This might sound surprising, but in all our years of experience, no two job searches have ever been exactly the same. So when it comes to something as important as your next career move, we know that there’s no substitute for having an expert recruiter who understands your specific goals and personally handles each unique facet and detail of your transition into a new position.

We have over 20 years of successful attorney placement experience and come to the table with proven, established industry relationships both across the country and internationally. We use the most competitive, leading-edge technology that the recruiting industry has to offer. That means we have all the speed, information access, and sizzle you’ll find with any larger firm, but we pair it with the one-on-one experience of a personal consultant.

But beyond that, we like to do things a little differently than our competition. Take two minutes to read below and find out why; then give us a call if you’d like to talk. The bottom line is this: we love what we do. We’re good at it. And we can’t wait to meet you.

What makes ALS stand out from other recruiters?

Most recruiters working for firms are required to “hit” placement quotas each month to keep their desk. It’s a highly pressurized, corporate “sales” environment with very little room for a truly personalized search experience. The recruiters are working against a strict, firm-created timeline to get resumes out the door, even if the candidate is not exactly on point for the position. If that submission doesn’t fly, they just move on to the next candidate.

Not so with us. We don’t measure our success by hitting fabricated number goals on a whiteboard. We measure our success by working with a select number of candidates and providing them with a soup to nuts, personalized, career advancing search experience. We have a 100% success rate with placement longevity and a long history of happy clients, on both sides of the placement.

Our plan of action is to get the best search results possible while still protecting the integrity and value of your resumé. This involves a lot more work on our end, but we think outside the box when it comes to providing personalized service that is in the best interest of our attorney clients. Unlike the traditional recruiting industry standard that encourages a high submission ratio that benefits the recruiter, we believe in submitting your resumé very conservatively. Because we know how harmful overexposing your resume in the market can be to your search and to your career.

We go the extra mile to dig for information that is not publicly available. We confirm that every position is legitimate and actively “in play” and, most importantly, that your background and experience is exactly on point. We do this research as a protective measure for you and guarantee that the information we gather is done on a completely confidential basis, without exposing your information or making a formal submission. In fact, we require that you pre-approve any and all submissions. You always remain in complete control of your resumé.

We keep “doctors’ on-call” hours so that we can discuss anything confidential whenever you are in an appropriate space to do so, whether or not that’s within standard business hours. When you need us, we’re here for you.

Success with a clear conscience is the only kind that works for us. We will never submit your resume without your approval; your personal information will always be handled with the highest level of confidentiality. We closely adhere to the NALSC rules: nalsc.org/code-of-ethics.

We use cutting edge, up-to-the-minute search technology, so we know about new job listings as soon as they post. But because the best strategies in this market are proactive, we don’t stop there. We take the time to create potential opportunities just for you.

We’ve discovered that the stronger the alliance between recruiter and attorney, the more successful the outcome of the search. It’s our top priority to make our working relationship personalized and as positive an experience as we can deliver.

We are passionate about making the best match, both for our attorney candidates and our law firm and corporate clients. Our primary goal is consistently the same and reflects our core values: to facilitate the best fit possible, on both a professional and a personal level. That kind of “matchmaking” requires creativity, industry knowledge, the commitment to excellence, and a recruiter’s instinct developed over years of recruiting the best for the best.

Plus, we are experts in attorney relocation.

If you are looking for a position either in a different part of the country or internationally, we’ve got you covered. We offer an “open road” or – as we like to call it – a borderless search experience. It’s one of the ways we stand out from our competition as most recruiters are limited to recruiting within one specific, designated geographic area. But we have the freedom, knowledge and expertise to take you wherever you want to go. And we can even conduct multi-location searches simultaneously if you’re deciding between locales.

Let’s face it. Moving can be a real pain. We keep it simple, streamlined and focused so you get the best results with the least amount of stress.

Here’s what our clients say.

Here’s what our clients say.

“Shannon has been nothing but an absolute pleasure to work with; she is smart, responsive, and creative. She is willing to handle the unpleasant parts of job negotiations on your behalf, so you can start your next career on a positive foot with your new employer. She helped me get two job offers in a very short period of time so I could make an informed decision when one of the offers was quickly exploding. She also helped me think outside the box with job options when I had made the unorthodox decision to leave my firm after 9 months with limited experience. I have referred Shannon to many friends and colleagues.” ~KG
“Initially I used the services of Shannon Avnsoe as a recruiter. Over the years her role in the development of my career has evolved from recruiter to trusted advisor. She has been available for me on numerous occasions to discuss my career and life goals. Her counseling and advice reflects the fact that she listens and understands my goals. In making a career move, Shannon would be the second person I talk to after my spouse.” ~JW
“Shannon Avnsoe understands the emotions associated with making a significant career change, and offered excellent advice and counsel throughout the process. She considered my individual career goals and worked to find the right firm for me. I continue to turn to her for career shaping advice. I believe Shannon Avnsoe truly cares about each candidate.” ~BT
“Working with Shannon Avnsoe was a pleasure. I was returning to the legal field after a time abroad and was concerned that it might take awhile to find a position. Shannon was able to match me with two firms that I clicked with immediately and led to my current position. I thoroughly appreciated Shannon’s professionalism, honesty and dedication to my job search.” ~JV
